I don’t know about you but this time of year is a bit grim isn’t it? Christmas and all those festivities have gone, cold days, no bank holidays for ages, summer is six months away still...


Christmas is just around the corner now and I’ll be heading home to London soon to celebrate with my family. Singing Christmas carols. Meeting my friends at the pub before midnight mass. Eating turkey, roast potatoes and stuffing. Christmas pudding. Mince pies. Christmas crackers. Going to Kempton Park for the King George VI Chase. Boxing Day football. Those are some of my favourite things about my typical Christmas in the UK.


Barcelona vs Real Madrid. Leo Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo. A titanic battle between two of the powerhouses of world football is just around the corner. The first Clasico of the season takes place on December 3, with Luis Enrique and Zinedine Zidane’s men once again vying for top spot in La Liga.


Spain is a popular destination for expats from all over the world. According to figures from the Office of National Statistics, there are almost 4.5 million foreigners living in the country, around 10% of the population.

As you read this, you may well be thinking of joining us in the near future as you consider a move to study or work here. I’ve lived in Spain now for around five years now and can honestly say it’s a really great place to be.


In today’s ever more competitive scramble for jobs graduates need something that separates them from the rest. From core skills and competencies to speaking different languages graduates need to think about having more than one string in their bow.

One of the best ways to set yourself apart is the challenge of taking part in an exchange program at an overseas university or for the more adventurous leaving your home country to complete a full degree abroad.
