As my grandmother used to say, “The person who has no health has nothing”. Being in good health must be understood not only as the lack of disease, but also as enjoying a state of full physical, mental and social health. Ensuring a healthy life and encouraging wellbeing for everyone, at all ages, is essential for sustainable development. SDGs lay a complex reality before us, since accomplishment of an SDG depends on the achievement of all others, in a circular symbiosis of sorts. Thus, policies set forth by public bodies should be integral and global, but applied locally.
We have all been hungry sometime, right? Truth is, it’s not pleasant. Thankfully, in our well-developed western environment, this uncomfortable sensation doesn’t last for long, since we always have something to quell it with. The “hunger” most of us know is defined by the English dictionary as “an uneasy sensation occasioned by the lack of food”. It’s not about being unable to enjoy our “second breakfast” or the “mid-morning cravings”. Because, let’s face it, that wouldn’t be as big a problem as to have the UN attempt to put an end to it, right?
The group of superheroes is growing. And that means the goal is closer… Which goal? Weren’t they 17? Yes… well… let me explain. Today we will talk about “the goal”. It is the first one, but it also encompasses all others, and if accomplished, it will make the world a better place on its own. Since I’m backed by a group of superheroes, let’s think big, shall we? We want to “put an end to poverty in all of its forms across the globe”.
It seems the title of a catastrophic science fiction movie. However, nothing further from reality. The world is in danger and needs to be saved. For this I plan to find as many superheroes as possible who are willing to use their powers in this difficult mission. Will you help me find them? Do you want to be one of them?
