Wendy . Blog Publicado 20 Junio 2012

Marta Jordano, who studied Physical Theraphy and Podology at CEU, and a
post grad degree , Título de Experto en Drenaje Linfático Manual here at UEM, has been coaching the UEM Lacrosse Girls’ Team for the last academic year. She wants to encourage more girls, especially sports students, to join the team..

.Here is Marta with some members of the UEM team at the Lacrosse tournament in Barcelona.

. Training sessions are starting again in September, Tuesdays and Thursdays 19:00-21:00 at the football field. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

.. Marta has volunteered to be the Lacrosse coach at UEM and can do it in both Spanish and English. Why? She’s bilingual! She was sent to the US for a couple of months, to Tucson, Arizona and Houston, Texas and spent her summers in Lancashire, England where she learned how to play Lacrosse. She’s been working as a physiotherapist here in Madrid for four years now, and is presently working with an orthopedic surgeon at the Instituto Internacional de Cirugía Ortopédica del Pie. She also coaches at UEM .

Here she is at a tournament in Vienna. She's the goalie.

Marta says, " I'd like to interest Erasmus students in this sport too. On our team you can get to meet new people and be involved with Spanish culture while you play this wonderful sport during your year abroad. "

What’s Lacrosse? Send Marta an e-mail and find out! Martaj22@hotmail.com .

And join the UEM team!

Oh, that's interesting! I did not know there was a lacrosse team in UEM. I think that in our university there are many activities that students know. There should be more ads in the faculties and sure more people would point to this fun sport!

It's very nice to see that lacrosse exists in our university. This sport isn't very known and practised in Spain but in other European countries and in United States it is used to be played above all by womens. It is a good sport and to see this variety of sports in the university is very positive.

There are a lot of unknown sports and Lacrosse is one of them.I never have listened about lacrosse before, it looks like a mix of football and tennis. I love both of them so, that is one reason for looking it very interesting. I would like to practise it because you have to run a lot and work as a team. If there are any free lacrosse match, I´ll be delighted to see it. Best regards.

I didn't know that here in the EU exist a team of lacrosse, it's so interesting. I saw this sport in a los of british films and I like it. I play lacrosse at the high school but only at Physical Education classes. Nowadays I play volleyball, but I would try one day play lacrosse.
