The future---your future?

Wendy . Blog Publicado 23 Mayo 2011

Are you tech savy? Do you have all the most up to date gadgets and appliances? Do you miss them terribly when you are away? When you travel do you expect all the same technology as you have at home?

Can YOU live without your cell phone, your laptop, your Blackberry for a week or a month? Do you feel a little lost if you can't get to your phone messages or your email? Do you feel disconnected?

Are today's electronics necessary to make you happy? How much of your money goes into the latest hottest-selling item?

Let's reflect on this:
Your parents and/or grandparents managed to get by without any of the things you NEED today. Think back 100 + years. No car--no GPS. No phone--no messaging. No electricity-- no recharging anything! How did they do it? They talked to each other, visited each other, wrote letters and sent them to each other.

You are not into technology. You're a more down-to-earth type. You prefer a pencil and a piece of paper. You'd rather go camping and get back to nature. You NEED to get away from the high tech world you're living and working in. You'd rather tackle wilderness survival than a new computer program. You're surviving at work or school, but just. You need to get out and away from it all.Or do you?

Let's think ahead another 100 years, or maybe much less. What will your children or grandchilden NEED?

Watch the video. "Oh, wow. I want all that and I want it NOW!"

I, for one, hope those technologies will materialize even though we do get too dependent on our modern conveniences sometimes...

I think that nowadays people aren't owners of their life but is the technologies with all that social-networks. We cannot live without our gadgets, because they are our essential tool that solve all ours problems. For example if we want to contact with a old friend that you haven't seen in years you only need to look a little bit for internet or if you are living abroad, far of your family, you can talk with them via Skype or another program that does the same or similar function. It seems like we born with one computer in one hand and a cell phone in the other hand!!! However the technology bring us union and communication between different countries and continent. That give us less time for do or receive something, less papers, less documents to keep, ... But is so good and safe to keep all our information in the network? In my opinion no, it isn't. Why? Because nowadays there are people called Hackers that can obtain want the y want about us and another problem is that you can lose all the information in an instant.

I believe now that technology has taken over, as far as I could never do without mobile phone, or without a computer, I would feel lost, also a ese think so unfortunately you have lost a lot of things, a lot of emotions that only know the people in person could give. Now the people are slaves to this technology, and honestly I think it will get worse.

Very good post, unfortunately now we can not live without a phone and without a laptop, much worse without using Facebook or WhatsApp, it's sad, because now people do not connect with others just live in your own bubble, depending on the technology and especially social networks, everything has good and bad, of course is much easier to communicate, I can see and talk to my parents on Skype, but there are times when I spend time on social networks.
