9th THANKSGIVING PIE TASTING FEAST at UEM
People kept asking, "Who won?" "How much did we make?" "How many desserts were there...? Well,
Laura Algibez from Communications, won 1st prize for her Carrot Cake. She received 9 votes, and one of her fans commented that, "There is no such a thing as too much carrot cake, specially if it is this one. Brilliant. Delish. 10 out of 10!"
2nd prize went to Ana García from Admissions for her Brownie con nueces de los nativos americanos. She got a couple of comments too, " buenisimo", "great".
We made 598 Euros at our 9th THANKSGIVING PIE TASTING FEAST. And it all goes to the NGO Aprendices Visuales! People could try 4 desserts for 2 Euros, and after the first hundred or so euros being dropped in the box, I was flashed back to that Spanish children's rhyme: "2 y 2 son 4, 4 y 2 son 6....16...y ...." All the way up to a grand total of 598 euros !Yes, our 9th THANKSGIVING PIE TASTING FEAST brought in a lot of money. 54 desserts were contributed, and 9 people brought drinks.
We had several student volunteers: Isabel Gonzalez and Marta Illanes helped out for over an hour, Xiaoling Yan, a Laureate exchange student from China, for more than 2, and Olaia Rueda not only brought 3 desserts, but volunteered to help us throughout the event.
kept asking: seguían preguntando
throughout: durante todo...
