Teachers make a difference + Do/Make
You're studying Dentistry, Engineering, Law. You're working hard and you expect to get a good job when you finish. You know you'll do well when you start to work, and you'll make a lot of money once you've worked for a while....You're finishing Advertising and Public Relations, Mass Media, Journalism. Your publicity campaigns, your designs and articles will make an impact....
Business? You've got a plan. You know you can do it. You're making an effort to learn all you can so that you'll be a top entrepreneur..... Gaudi? Maybeck? Their buildings have made them famous.. You're finishing Architecture. You know what you want to do...... You're an athlete. You're competitive. You're doing your best to excel.Your team is doing better than the others too. You made a decision a couple of years ago. You opted for a Sports program which includes Physiotherapy. It's been a lot of work, but you're glad you decided to do it.You know you could do better, but you're studying and working too. Some day you'll teach physical education at a school. You like kids and sports. You know you'll make them work hard and excel just like you did....You chose economics or accounting or you're doing an MBA.You're planning to make your first million by the time you're 25.....You're in Fine Arts. You can make beautiful things with your hands. People tell you that you'll ever make a lot of money, but that's OK. You want to be an art teacher. You want to let kids enjoy art and express themselves even if they make a mess......Studying Dance? You move to the music and make it look so easy.....Medicine? Nursing? Optometry? Podology? At this university or that one? Well, you're finishing your second year now. Amazing, isn't it? Remember how hard it was to decide? You just couldn't make up your mind.
Whatever it is that you are studying now, I hope you're enjoying it. Work hard. Don't make the mistake of ignoring your studies till exam time. Do what you're supposed to do. Finish on time. Graduate with your class. Make it to that graduation ceremony with your friends.
And when you're out in the professional world, remember the teachers who helped you along the way. You know that teachers don't make a lot of money, unfortunately and unfairly, but they do make a difference.
Take those business strategies, those presentation skills, those languages and management techinques out into the world. If you do a good job, you'll make a difference too.
