Read this blog ! Practice your English! Come on ( venga ya)!. No deadlines (fechas tope). No exams. It's just a fun way to learn the language.
Reading and Speaking and Writing too!
Summer assignment? Yes. And here it is: 1. Read. Read in English. Find a good book and read it. Look up anything you're interested in on internet and read it. Pick up a magazine and read it. Then imagine you want to tell someone about what you read, in English. Isn't that the same as an English teacher asking you to summarize something? Try it. Try it with your family and friends. Everyone will benefit from your ad lib English lessons. 2. Write about what you're doing. Write about your thoughts, your dreams, your accomplishments. Write a postcard or an email or notes to yourself. This could be the beginning of the "Great American novel." Here's a Wikipedia description for you to read! The "Great American Novel" is the concept of a novel that is distinguished in both craft and theme as being the most accurate representation of the spirit of the age in the United States at the time of its writing or in the time it is set. It is presumed to be written by an American author who is knowledgeable about the state, culture, and perspective of the common American citizen. The author uses the literary work to identify and exhibit the language used by the American people of the time and to capture the unique American experience, especially as it is perceived for the time. In historical terms, it is sometimes equated as being the American response to the national epic. Well, maybe you could write "The Great Spanish Novel." And now the hard part: 3. Talk about, speak about, explain, describe anything to anyone who will listen to you. "The weather is great today, isn't it? Let's go swimming. "Do you like my hat? I bought it in the shop on the corner. They have them in 10 different colors." Inquire, ask about, demand things: "Could I have a cup of coffee please?" "How much is the salad?" "You didn't give me the right change! I gave you a 20€ bill " Have a happy summer and remember: The more you practice your English now, the easier it will be tomorrow. - Wendy Vocabulary: assignment: tarea, trabajo look up: buscar información en el internet o un libro de referencia pick up: coger, recoger, levantar try it: pruébalo ad lib: improvisar bill: billete, factura accomplishments: logros
