Shakespeare slept here!

Read this blog ! Practice your English! Come on ( venga ya)!. No deadlines (fechas tope). No exams. It's just a fun way to learn the language.

Pronunciation: You write it and the Avatar says it.

Wendy . Blog Published 28 February 2011

You're studying another language. You're learning the grammar and you can read really well. You zoom through your homework, browse news articles and study professional journals. No problem. You can even enjoy reading a simple novel. The problem arises when you go to a meeting or travel. Your native language is NOT the language you need to communicate in. You can understand what is said to you, more or less, but you don't feel confident about speaking.

The solution: your personal Avatar. If you can write something in your "new" language, your Avatar can pronounce it for you. You don't need to have a friend, colleague or family member with you any more!

Try this out. http://www.oddcast.com/home/demos/tts/tts_example.php?sitepal

You choose the language and type in a word where it says "Enter Text". The Avatar will say anything you type. Try "COMFORTABLE", "FOCUS", "CAMPUS" in English. Most Spaniards don't pronounce those correctly. Then write something in Spanish. You don't like your Avatar? Choose a different one, male or female. You're going to the UK next month. Choose Catherine who has a British accent. Julie is the first one you'll hear. She's American. Just type in your word and click on "Say it".

P.S. (If you move the mouse around and her eyes will follow the cursor.)

Have fun!

Hi there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could locate a captcha plugin for my comment form? I'm using the same blog platform as yours and I'm having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot! bdccdbdafdfdeeec

I like this page, I don't know if this page has a app for the mobile or tablet, It's incredible! You can write a words and the woman say that you have written. I think It kind of invention is very dangerous, because if I can travel with my mobile in my pocket and I can look for all the words that I don't know....Wendy I am sorry but maybe I never came back to class!!! It's a jokey. However Its truth that the development is so great, and in a few years, it's possible that we don't need learning a new language, only we need to have a very good mobile o better, we could have a chip into the brains and only turn on this and we could speak English like English people. In conclusion until the man invent the chip...we need to learn English pronunciation.
