Shakespeare slept here!

Read this blog ! Practice your English! Come on ( venga ya)!. No deadlines (fechas tope). No exams. It's just a fun way to learn the language.

Can you read in code?

Wendy . Blog Shakespeare slept here! Published 27 January 2012

How does your mind work? Does everything have to be spelled out for you or can you see between the lines?

Try this. You have just received an important message, but it doesn't look like a language you are familiar with. However you CAN understand the message if you think in English. Decipher it. Hurry. It might be important!

You'll see that there are numerals instead of some letters. Don't worry. Just read it.

If you can read it, put a comment on this blog!

I read it without any hesitation. Can you?

Wendy

Apparently, you needn´t be an experienced decipherer of unreadable Egyptian papyri to be able to reveal this message. It just seems to be a matter of resemblance between letters and numbers ant its correlation. :(

Grace. You said you were shocked. Try writing a message in the Spanish language. Use the same code. ¿PU3D35 L33R 3570 74MB13N?

This is an interesting exercise of reading numbers and letters mixed in a strange way. This text is a type of writing that is compound of alphanumeric characters that are written in an incomprehensible way for some people. It’s called 1337, or “Leet speak” and it can be written in different ways. For example, the most simple is the “simple leet” that consists in replacing vowels by numbers (like in the above text. There are others more complex, such the “ultimate leet”. The text that you give us confirms the theory that we don’t read every letter but we read the first and the last and we think about the context. And it’s curious that, the faster you read, the better you understand it.

Yes, I can read it !!! While I recognize that some of the words resist me. It is much easier in Spanish, but also comforting to know that I'm able to do it in English.
