18th BOOK EXCHANGE & SALE-----March 4th & 5th

Wendy . Blog Shakespeare slept here! Published 03 March 2014

Hope to see you at the Language Center's 18th BOOK EXCHANGE & SALE .

It will be 11:00-18:00, March 4th & 5th. You're welcome to bring books to contribute, buy books for 1 Euro, and even volunteer to help.

Yes, we need a lot of help opening boxes, organizing the books, and selling the books of course. As you know from previous experience, the proceeds from this book sale go directly to charity. This year we are supporting APRENDICES VISUALES who create reading material for autistic children. Miriam Reyes Oliva, the founder of this project, came by last week. Several of us had the opportunity to talk to her about APRENDICES VISUALES. I just received a note from her saying,

" I´m writing to thank you for our visit in Language Center. It was great meeting all the people helping us in our project. I would love if you could send us the pictures we took together, so I can publish them on our social media. Also, as we said in our visit, we are planning to use your contribution to the project to develop the Android APP of our first book, "El Oledor Explorador". We did a crowdfunding and we were able to develop it for iPad, where we actually have 40,800 downloads...that means a lot of kids are using it! So we also want to develop it for Android and try to reach many more families and profesionals. Thanks again for your contribution, we are sure we can make a great positive impact with it. Best, Miriam Reyes Oliva " www.aprendicesvisuales.com<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Hi Wendy; In this days seems essential to the support of those who have to those who do not. There are many needy people and any help however small that appears may be very important to someone.

Good afternoon Wendy! It's a good idea, becaue I think is very important to help other people. Last summer I was voluntary work to Peru. This experience was very gratifying. Always when I can I like to help other people.

Hi Wendy, This activity is not only important because you learn English,it is also very important because you help other peolple. Two years ago I worked as a volunteer distributing food to poor people and it was something that made me feel great. Unfortunately I could not attend this activity because it coincided with the schedules of my classes.

I think it's a great initiative to help people who need this. It's easy to give books that we do not use for years or volunteer in the organization. Great initiative!

Hi Wendy All these initiatives are incredible, it is very important to encourage them. I would have worked, but the truth is that this year I finish the race and barely have time for extracurricular activities. Regards.

I think that it's a really good and easy way to enhance the people's performance in terms of reading, speaking, writing english, and overall improve the english level, thus I guess that to share the culture with others, in this case in form of books, is an new educational step very smart.
