In class you have been discussing global warming. Your teacher has asked you to summarise some of the effects of this phenomenon.

___________________________________________________________________________

To be honest, with all the contrary information flying about these days as to whether this phenomenon actually exists or not, I really don’t know where I stand . What I do know is that there has been some severe local warming recently. We are now well into our third heatwave.

As for the effects of this global warming, here are some new trends from our friend Al Gore. On a more personal level here are mine: idleness, grumpiness, irritation, constant complaining and a general state of discomfort. Although I must admit this is a standard list of Anglo-Saxon traits when the weather is scorching.

To overcome these effects I have taken to sleeping in the garden. If you don’t have one of these, try the balcony, and if you have neither, invest in a fan, a cooler box and some ice. I have also taken to wearing loose clothing, which I have realised is not such a bad idea at my age. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, so feel free to comment.

Today's forecast...scorcha! This is a funny video that represents what English think about Spaniards. Apparently we sound like ttt ttt ttt XD and they weather is definitely not an interesting topic to talk about. I agree! It´s luckily always sunny. Hope you like it. Keep up the good work "Kenito", you are very talented (and so is the woman that draws the caricatures!, Good job Sandra Aguilar!) SARA

It's so difficult to beat the heat, loose clothes help a lot, other than that I would add light-coloured ones. Great post! such an ejoyable read :D Esther

Have you ever heard of the greenhouse effect? I happen to live in an attic which is very much like living in an oven. There was this guy,Prince Pondicherry, who asked the famous Willy Wonka to build him a palace entirely out of chocolate. The poor idiot didn´t realise how hot it was in the indian desert. Read Roald Dahl´s Charlie and the chocolate factory to discover some of the wonders of India among some other silly things.By the way, Ken, would you mind sharing your garden?
